Access E-Books through the Databases

Books are incredibly important to research. If there is a book written on a subject you are interested in researching, you are in luck--that means there is so much to say on the subject that someone out there needed to write an entire book on it rather than a brief article.  Many of the books in the library are scholarly books--they are typically written by scholars or expert researchers on the topic, and most are published by university presses (e.g. Harvard University Press). Unfortunately, the books in print at the library are currently inaccessible.

But we have better news.  Even though our print books are currently out of reach, our e-Book library is open for business, 24 hours a day, seven days a week--no library card required.  The Fullerton College library has twice as many e-books than print books!

The eBooks are accessed the same way as the rest of the databases, through the main library webpage:
To get there: Go to https://library.fullcoll.edu > Databases (tab on widget) > View Full Database List (blue button) >  E > e-Books

One thing to keep in mind is that this database may seem to have a lot of books (200,000+), in terms of other databases out there (millions of results) it's really not that much.

Therefore, it is important to limit the results to mostly topical keywords whenever possible (see Research Strategies)
