Searching Books

Use the online catalog to find print and e-books on astronomy and astrophysics.  A keyword search will look for the words you specify in various fields including titles, authors, and contents.

Browsing Astronomy Books

The Fullerton College Library uses the alphanumeric Library of Congress Classification System for organizing its print books for the shelves.  Astronomy books have call numbers that start with QB and the section can be found in the General Collection stacks (2nd Floor), the Reference Collection (1st Floor) and the Oversized Section (2nd Floor). Follow the signage in the stacks to find the books, or ask our friendly library staff to help you! Topical call number ranges are:

          QB 1-139              General astronomy
          QB 140-237          Practical and spherical astronomy
          QB 275-343          Geodesy
          QB 349-421          Theoretical astronomy and celestial mechanics
          QB 455-456          Astrogeology
          QB 460-466          Astrophysics

Please note that suggestions are at the discretion of the professional subject librarians in charge. Also, it may take several months for a recommendation to be ordered and processed before becoming available on the shelves.
