ENG 103 Piazza / Perception Management: Suggested Topics

Suggested Topics

In this guide you can find resources to get you started thinking about the topics suggested for your course. These resources are just the beginning and are meant to provoke interest and curiosity about each topic. Use the library databases and your own research to dive deeper and explore the perceptions that exist for each topic.

As you do your research, note which types of sources best represent your topic. Are they books, video, statistics, journal articles or something else? Different topics are covered differently by different sources. You may also have your own preference as to the type of sources you like. Don't just stick to what you know. Explore.

Ideas for other topics

Want to do something other than a suggested topic but don't know what? Here are some places to look for ideas:

  • Gale in Context Issues List - A list of current issues with varying viewpoints and perspectives. Many viewpoints touch on how an issue is perceived or could be perceived.
  • Pro and Con Sections of CQ Researcher - The pro and con sections ask a research question and provide opposing viewpoints. A pro and con discussion could spark ideas for how an issue is perceived and presented to the public.
