In our library session, we examined three websites that would be helpful to you as you explore career options in the field of law enforcement. Please find links to those sites below as well as some of the search tips we discussed in class.

The first site we examined was the Occupational Outlook Handbook. As a reminder, we searched by using the Occupation Groups list on the left side of the homepage and selected "Protective Service." This returned several job categories that fell under the Protective Service umbrella. Remember, you can also search for a specific job title by using the "Search" box located in the upper right corner of the homepage.

We also examined the POST website and focused on the link for "Law Enforcement Jobs." We found the link by selecting Hiring on the blue toolbar near the top of the homepage. Remember, the listings are categorized by Agency Name (the city that if offering employment). Be sure to pay attention to whether ot not the position offered is a lateral by looking at the name of the job in the Job Description column.

Finally, we examined the site for PORAC - Peace Officers Research Association for California. We reviewed employment opportunities by accessing the Jobs tab on the upper right side of the site's homepage.
