From the preceding link/page, students can sign up for virtual library orientation workshops, which culminate in a quiz (grades can be sent to teachers): 1) a library orientation lesson, 2) a resource eval section, and 3) a plagiarism module. The above-linked page also connects students to research tools to discover research must-haves, from citing to searching databases.

FC Library has a trio of Canvas workshops that are designed to be completed in an hour or so. They are self-enrolled, & students receive a certificate of completion when they pass with a score of 80% or higher. The librarians score the workshops, create certificates, and email the certificates to students.
Source Eval
The evaluating sources workshop includes 7 sections/quizzes, & is based on the CRAAP Test developed by the Meriam Library at Cal State Chico. It starts with defining the necessity of having an information need before starting research & ties each of the evaluation elements to how they are defined by that information need. Avoid Plagiarizing
The avoiding plagiarism workshop consists of 5 sections & 5 quizzes. This workshop goes beyond the ethics of using sources effectively & provides students with the tools to avoid inadvertent plagiarism. It explains the top five types of plagiarism; provides two note-taking systems (Cornell method & notecard) to avoid plagiarism during the research process; & stresses the use of citation, summary, & paraphrase to avoid plagiarism during the writing process.
